I went to the Frys in Downers Grove, IL to purchase a $400. computer monitor. I called before I went and was told that they would price match an offer from a competitor. I told the saleswoman who the competitor was and she said they would match it. When I got there and picked out the monitor, I was told by another salesman that they would not honor it as they don't have it in their listing. I was disappointed, but i was already there and really wanted this monitor. I told the salesman I wanted to also get the extended service contract and he said they would take care of it at the checkout. I grabbed a computer desk on my way to the checkout too! When I got to the checkout, they rang it up so fast and collected my money, but no extended service contract. They said I had to go to customer service to get that. I get to customer service and the person there looks baffled and goes to get a manager. At this point I am feeling really uneasy about this purchase. Finally the manager takes care of the service contract and gives me a faded piece of paper. He says the printer is low on ink! I asked him if he wanted me to get the ink from the ink department for him. He said they would know what to do at the counter. What counter I asked? The "CHECKOUT COUNTER"! Again I go back to the checkout counter lugging this $400.00 monitor AND a computer desk! I pay the 69.99 for the extended service contract and ask the man if he is in charge and he states that he is. I ask who I can complain to and he hands me a pamphlet to send to Randy Fry the president. I had just spent over $500.00 and yet he really did not care what my problem(s) were at that moment. I have not opened the monitor yet and I am seriously considering returning it. Very shoddy business manners here. If I don't hear from someone soon, I'll return it and got to someone else for better service. BenQ XL2420Z Monitor - Downers Grove, IL
